They are not time gating attempts. They just confirmed this is a developer Q and A. The talents are the only thing that are time gating you.

The gating of content is better handled through the actual content, whether by sheer amount or extreme difficulty curve, which naturally serves as a check to progression. Using a RL time scale to gate content is just lazy developer work. Hated it in many games, FFXI being one of the worst.

Blizzard is pacing content out in Legion. Instead of releasing it in surges they bleed it slowly to draw out as much life from a patch.

If it's received quite well then I really hope that motivates them to want to do more things like this. Would be cool for them to announce multiple new bits on content that are unique like this one with the release of a major patch and/or new expansions. Really putting their brains to work in order to give us more than another kill 10 demons world quest. The hype for this has me quite excited as well. I'm hoping that if they don't time gate it then it will still take your average player a decent amount of time to complete, so that way we have something to work on for awhile. Time gating will ruin the fuck out of this I feel like, so let's just pray they don't. I already hate that they added a talent system for it. You'd think by now they would realize that most players hate time gating.

Id say they should timegate like half of the scenario content in week 1 and another half in week 2 so that people dont burn through it.
